r u Down is an app for working out what to do with your friends, without anyone having to be the one who organises it.

Something broken, or an idea? Email me — it comes straight to a person, and I read all of it.

How do I get my friends in?

Open a group, tap the share button, and send them the ten-character invite code or the link. They enter it under Groups → Have an invite code? An invite is the only way into a group. There is no way to search for a person, and no way for anyone to find you.

Where did my plan go?

It expired, and that is deliberate. Every plan has a clock on it — Now lasts two hours, Tonight ends at 5am. When a plan expires it disappears along with its chat, so the app never fills up with dead ideas nobody wanted to be the one to delete.

The receipt scanner got something wrong.

Every line is editable — tap it and fix the name or the amount. Lines the scan was unsure about are highlighted for you. If a whole receipt reads badly, a flatter photo in better light usually fixes it, and you can always add lines by hand.

How does paying people back work?

The app never takes a payment and never sees your card. When you split a bill it builds a link that opens the other person's own Venmo, Cash App or PayPal with the amount already filled in. They pay you directly, in an app they already trust, and they do not need this app installed.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Me → Delete my account, at the bottom of Settings. It removes your profile, your messages and your responses, and it cannot be undone. Groups you own pass to whoever has been in them longest; a group with only you in it is deleted with you.

Community Rules

Zero tolerance. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Every account agrees to these rules when it is created.

Privacy Policy

The short version. Only people in a group with you can see anything you post. Your email and phone number are never shown to anyone. Receipt photos are read on your phone and never uploaded. You can delete everything from inside the app.

What is collected

What is not collected

Your contacts. Your location. Anything from a receipt photo other than the text printed on it — the image is read on your device and is never uploaded anywhere. There is no analytics tracking, no advertising, and no third-party trackers.

Who can see what

Only people who share a group with you can see your name, your avatar, and what you post in that group. There is no public profile, no feed, no search, and no way for a stranger to find you. This is enforced by the database itself, not only by the app.

Your email address is never visible to anyone else, including people in your groups.

Where it is kept

Data is stored with Supabase, on servers in the United States (East US). Plans and their messages are deleted automatically when they expire. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone for advertising.

Your control

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app under Me → Delete my account. That removes your profile, your messages and your responses. If you would rather I did it, email me and I will.

Children

r u Down is not intended for children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who can see it, the app will say so rather than quietly updating this page.
